Sumpah Pemuda – first photo video project

Now it’s still morning time in Jakarta and today we celebrate one of Muslims’ big holiday, Eid al-Adha. But I’m not gonna talk about this holiday in this post, I choose to celebrate this day by having a big supper with my family =)

I’m gonna talk about Sumpah Pemuda (The Youth Pledge). Sumpah Pemuda was a declaration made by young Indonesian nationalists at a national conference in Jakarta on 28 October 1928. They proclaimed three ideals, one motherland, one nation and one language. This became the starting point for young Indonesians to reach their freedom in 1945. To recall this initial movement, the Government has marked 28 October as one of Indonesia’s national day.

Inspired by the above, and to appreciate my surroundings – every Indonesian youth that proudly presents Indonesia, I made this pilot video project compiling some of my photos relate to the activities of young Indonesians. The musical background of this video is Bangun Pemudi Pemuda, one of national anthem that energize young generation to keep on trying their best for Indonesia. For you my dear friends, I dedicated this work.
